European Design and Engineering Center (E-DEC)

Innovative development and technology center

In 2012 SUMITOMO ELECTRIC Hartmetall GmbH established the innovative European Design and Engineering Center (E-DEC) located in Lauchheim, Germany. This investment created 2,000 square meters of presentation, training, and meeting rooms to present theory-based trainings and practical machinery presentations.

Latest technologies enable demonstrations of tools and systems in action. Work pieces can be machined, the production processes can be optimized and together the acquired expertise can be evaluated and confirmed directly on the machines in the presentation center. Our customers receive the complete solution, which they can subsequently transfer to their own production.

Sumitomo Seminars

Theoretical and practical seminars with content of milling, CBN hard turning and drilling

Skilled workers are an important factor in global competition. Every day we are confronted with technical inquiries from different continents. Having a wide know-how, it is natural for us to offer the best possible solutions. Global communication and the exchange of ideas between production and sales are very important to help with different solutions and advanced technologies to customers.

With theory-based training and practical demonstrations we offer a holistic knowledge transfer by our professionals. We provide theoretical and practical seminars with content of milling, CBN hard turning and holemaking.

Target group
Our seminars focus on all people working in or being interested in latest cutting technologies. For example:

The seminars take place at our innovative development and technology center E-DEC located in Lauchheim, Germany.

Please note that lectures of the fixed seminar dates will be held in German language only. It is possible to arrange an individual seminar process so that content and time will satisfy your personal requirements.
