High-efficiency PCD milling cutter ANX type for aluminum alloys

The automotive industry is increasingly striving to reduce the weight of individual engine components in order to improve fuel efficiency. This leads to the increasing use of non-ferrous materials such as aluminum alloys. Accordingly, there is a growing demand for lightweight tools that operate under high-speed conditions and can also be used on smaller machines to improve machining efficiency.

To satisfy these market requirements, Sumitomo has developed the highly efficient PCD milling cutter ANX type for aluminium alloys.

The series includes shank type cutters in ø 25, 30, 32, 40 and 50mm as well as shell type cutters with ø 40, 50, 63, 80, 100, 125 and 160mm and modular milling cutters in ø 25, 30, 32, and 40mm in different numbers of teeth with inch and metric mounting to choose from. In addition, we have also included an insert shape with a corner radius of 0.8 mm to support the various machining requirements of different industries such as automobile, aircraft and industrial machinery.

High-speed and high-efficiency machining

Thanks to the unique mounting method of the blades, a multi-tooth design up to 28 teeth can be enabled, providing high machining efficiency at feed rates of 30,000 mm/min or more. In addition, radial blade displacement due to centrifugal force at high speeds is minimized to achieve high dimensional accuracy.

Light-weight aluminum alloy body

Thanks to the ultra-light aluminium milling cutter body, the weight is a maximum of 1.0 kg, even for milling cutters with diameters of 100 mm. This lightweight milling cutter has been developed especially for use on smaller machines.
