The GDX is characterized by its exceptionally long service life, which is due to innovative technologies and a well-thought-out design.
Advanced coating technology
HiPIMS coating enables layer thicknesses of up to 10μm, which significantly increases tool life compared to conventional 4μm coatings. The thicker coating provides better protection against wear and increases the heat resistance of the cutting edges.
Improved chip control
Due to the enlarged chip pockets and the smooth flute in combination with a chip control of two chip breakers for inside and outside, the process can be adapted to the material in the best possible way and counteracted the end of service life by means of various substrates and coatings. Improved chip control reduces stress on the cutting edges and helps to extend tool life. The base body of the GDX drill is made of a high-quality steel that ensures exceptional heat resistance and rigidity, and it is also treated with a black oxide layer to also extend the life of the holder.
By combining these advanced technologies and design features, the GDX insert drill offers an exceptionally long service life.
